The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency said it can be alarmed with regards to the higher number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The service stage established for intervention ordeals a significant inflow of potential beneficiaries, that makes it challenging for the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more means to permit the servicing of all consumers and boost usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
